Breath our scents, walk our landscape, hear our melodic dialects, delight in our savory morsels, touch each rich texture, and the southern essence remains a mystery. The ethereal south, unfathomable to the five senses, lives in the heart. If you believe in magic, and can survive the devastating passions of an open heart, just possibly, you stand a chance of living a moment as a southerner. Most people aren't brave enough to be southerners, even the ones that are.

Old Neighbors

This azalea and old house appeared to have been neighbors for many years. With redevelopment creeping through the neighborhood, I don't know how long either of them have left. I'll enjoy them while I can.

It seems that the new yuppie owners moving into the area, like to strip out all the old shrub growth and relandscape. It's a shame to loose an old beauty like this one erh?

Posted by Dread who took this pic after sneeking out of the office early one day.
