Eagles; A Plural "E" Word
Have you not known? Have you not heard, that the everlasting God , the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding.
He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40, verses 28 through 31
I have noticed that most of the time Isaiah 40:31 is illustrated with one lone soaring eagle. But that is a mere refraction of what the scripture says. The scripture refers to eagles; plural. How much greater then is that lift up that is received? We are not lifted as though on the wings of an eagle. We shall mount up with wings as eagles!
Just an observation from beneath the Carolina moon; one that I need and share with several others, that happen to also need to be remembered now in prayer and meditation.
Happy Tuesday!
